WADO Ticketing is operated by WADO Concepts Management, a company registered in Uganda. Our platform allows event organisers to list events and sell tickets, and allows attendees to discover, purchase, and manage tickets.
When you use our website or purchase a ticket, we collect and process personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
Account Information
- Full name and email address (when you register)
- Phone number (used for mobile money payments and ticket delivery)
- Password (stored as a secure hash. We never store your plain password)
Purchase Information
- Ticket holder name
- Payment provider used (MTN MoMo or Airtel Money)
- Mobile money number used for payment
- Transaction amount and reference numbers
- IP address at time of purchase
Event Attendance
- QR code scan records (time, gate agent, entry/exit status)
- Ticket usage history
Technical Data
- IP address and browser/device type when you visit our site
- Pages visited and actions taken (for security and debugging)
Guest Checkout
If you purchase a ticket without creating an account, we still collect your name, email, and phone number in order to deliver your ticket and process your payment.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data only for the following purposes:
- Ticket delivery: Send your ticket and QR code to your email after a confirmed purchase.
- Payment processing: Pass your phone number to our payment provider (MarzPay) to initiate mobile money collection.
- Account management: Allow you to log in, view your tickets, and manage your profile.
- Event entry: Allow gate staff to scan and verify your QR code at the event venue.
- Support: Respond to refund requests, enquiries, and disputes.
- Security: Detect fraud, prevent duplicate tickets, and protect the platform.
- Legal obligations: Retain transaction records as required by Ugandan law.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
5. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Account data: Kept for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we remove your personal details within 30 days.
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Ugandan financial regulations.
- Ticket and attendance records: Retained for 2 years after the event date.
- Support correspondence: Retained for 2 years.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update incorrect or incomplete information via your profile page.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to our legal retention obligations).
- Objection: Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine readable format.

8. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your personal data, including:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
- QR codes are cryptographically signed to prevent forgery
- Payment webhook requests are verified using HMAC signatures
- Access to admin systems is restricted to authorised staff only
No system is completely secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@wadoticketing.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
